I recently read a blog post by my fave Necole Kane who recommended Matthew Kelly’s – The Rhythm of Life. I’m really struggling with creating a plan for my life at the moment and I’ve invested in quite a few books lately. This was only £4.99 via Kindle so I thought why not!
Before the end of the first chapter Matthew urges the reader to put the book down, asks ‘what do you want from life?’ and tells you to take 5 moments or hours to really think about it and write it down.
Most people can tell you exactly what they don’t want, but very few have the same clarity about what they do want.
You’re told that there are no right or wrong answers, to write quickly without too much thought and no editing. It might sound weird but I felt something in my heart whilst writing like I was really tapping into what my heart desires most.
I started a new notebook, wrote the date and the following.
To be clear and intentional with my life and the things I am about to write
Be assured, if you don’t know where you are going, you are lost.
To work within media – content creation, branding or both
I’ve always loved and been good at branding and I find content creation fun, I think a role that combines them both would be my dream job – If I really do have to adult.
To help and inspire people to live their best lives
It’s an amazing feeling knowing that the small steps I’ve taken on my journey so far have inspired people, I want to continue helping people realise that they are the authors of their lives.
Have we become more interested in spectator sports and television sitcoms than in our own future?
To become an influencer
Not on a major scale, I feel like that’s too much pressure, but I would love to work with brands – ones that I believe in and put my readers, followers, fam on to the great things that this world has to offer. I’m tired of these influencers who are out here promoting
flat tummy shit tea and things that they don’t really use just to make a buck.
To engage in public speaking
Man, I envy those with enough confidence to stand in front of a crowd of people they may or may not know and speak from their heart.
To become a brand and then a global brand
Whether you are sixteen or sixty, the rest of your life is ahead of you. You cannot change one moment of your past, but you can change your whole future. Now is your time.
TO Be FEATURED IN MY FAVOURITE PUBLICATIONS
I don’t feel like I’ve done enough or put enough into what I’m doing just yet to be featured but I aim to inspire so many that this becomes a reality. I have a lot of work to do but I’m willing to get it done!
To fall in love and have that person love me and respect me the same
I’ve lived through the pain of unrequited love and although it could happen again, that’s not what I want for my heart or sanity.
Someone who truly knows and honours my worth
When you are wondering if he really is the one for you, consider this one idea: You deserve to be cherished. Cherished! Not just loved. Cherished.
To never forget who I am and that I am enough
It’s been a long journey but I’m here, whole and unapologetically myself. I never want to lose what I worked so hard to achieve. There was a point not too long ago when I honestly couldn’t remember what being happy and carefree felt like and that was one of the most painful things ever.
To remain strong but always remember its ok to feel
Women wander the earth marveling at the highest mountains, the deepest oceans, the whitest sands, the most exotic islands, the most intriguing birds of the air and fish of the sea— and all the time never stop to marvel at themselves and realize their infinite potential as human beings.
To move out
The uncertainty of my life has prevented me from moving out. I chop and change jobs often and have a serious case of wanderlust. I know that’s no excuse and people buy/rent and still get on with these things but that scares me. What if I move out, become unemployed and can’t pay my bills/mortgage? I’ve been told that I have a really unhealthy look on things like this – not having money scares the shit out of me which is why I’m so good with it, but I’m dedicated to moving out in 2017/8!
To travel more
Travel opens our minds to different cultures, philosophies, and worldviews. Travel opens our hearts to the people of foreign lands and their different traditions and creeds. Travel dissolves the stains of prejudice that infect our hearts and societies.
Even though these are ‘wants’ and I have no set plan of how to achieve them – yet, I feel like I’m on the right path.
